Almost all Bitcoin-Birzhi was blocked in Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan limited access to unlicensed cryptocurrency exchanges and exchange services. Forklog information was confirmed by the National Agency for Promising Projects (NAPP), which acts as a regulator of industry in the country.
NAPP emphasized that exchanges and other platforms providing services in the field of crypto acting turnover should receive a license of the provider of services for the implementation of activities in Uzbekistan.

“In addition, they do not bear any legal liability for the implementation of operations with cryptoactives, cannot guarantee the legitimacy of transactions, as well as proper storage and preservation of the confidentiality of personal data of citizens”.
According to the April Decree, from January 1, 2023, citizens and legal entities of Uzbekistan will be able to carry out transactions of sale or exchange of cryptocurrencies exclusively through services.
“From that moment [publication of the decision] we did not block foreign platforms, since we understand that our citizens have funds at these sites. But this measure did not mean that citizens could calmly trade on foreign platforms before January 1, 2023. The ban on this has already been since 2019, ”said.
At the moment, only one exchange has received a license to carry out activities in Uzbekistan – Uznex.
“We are always ready to consider applications for a license from all large crypto -streaks if they are interested in starting their activities in the territory of Uzbekistan in accordance with the requirements of the legislation,” the NAPP said.
Recall that in 2021, the authorities of Uzbekistan called on residents of the country not to use “unofficial” sites for trade and exchange of cryptocurrencies.
